Reviews and Comments

Alexander has come a long way from the days when he was barely old enough to speak. This series episode marks Alexander's first date, as set up by Mr. Radcliffe in an effort to please a client. Unfortunately, as with several other late entries in the series, Blondie Hits the Jackpot suffers from too many scenes, important or trivial, that just don't ring true. The story happens in spite of the characters, not because of them. There's still enough funny material to make it worth a viewing -- in particular, Dagwood's bumbling at a construction site (excluding a cartoonish chase scene) -- but newcomers to the series should start with an earlier episode. This film marked Jerome Cowan's final appearance as Dagwood's second boss George Radcliffe.
