Reviews and Comments

One of the better Charlie Chan mysteries with Roland Winters, which is to say that it is almost tolerable. It's not completely Winters' fault, although he lacks the charisma of Warner Oland or even Sidney Toler. It's that by this point the series had long outlived its own creativity. None of the characters are actual individuals, just machines who perform their assigned tasks. The mystery is vaguely intriguing, though, so hardcore mystery fans may not have as much trouble getting through this episode as other late Chan flicks.
