The stricture on using Macs in graphic design (at least at my university) drives me NUTS! Hardly any of the students have Macs at home (that includes me), so it forces them to have to use the Mac lab whenever they need to do a computer assignment. Even though the program used to do the assignment is always something that's available on Mac and PC, the instructor HATES PCs for some unknown reason and makes us use the Macs. UGH! I haven't seen any perceivable difference on the output from, say, Adobe Illustrator, when working on a PC as compared to a Mac. All his Mac bias is doing is making many people do work in the lab when they could be doing it at home, and be working on a system they're more accustomed to.

Not that Macs are bad, but a lot of people need to realize that PCs aren't bad either. :p I mean, here's a great example - check out the link below. (It's an inside look page for an upcoming adventure game I'm eagerly awaiting - Myst 3: Exile.) The company making the game (Presto Studios, my favorite) is using Macs and PCs together to do the job, and judging by the screenshots and stuff, it's working quite well.

And, note the artists are all using PCs. ;) So there.
