"it"

I think I know a publicity stunt when I see one, but I'm still curious about the "it" they keep talking about on ABC's Good Morning America show.
They talked about "it" a lot yesterday and I just heard a mention today. It seems that "it" is a new invention, so simple that those who have seen "it" wonder why somebody hadn't thought of "it" before. Charles Gibson asked one of those people if "it" had a computer chip and he replied that "Everything has a computer chip." They also explained that "it" was going to change everybody's life at least as much as the internet has, and "it" was going to make the inventor richer (or as rich as) Bill Gates, whoever *he* is. There is speculation that "it" is some kind of personal transportation, but I think it is a light weight, cheap, effecient power source that will replace batteries of all sizes and even fuel cells. That will make possible a variety of things like electric cars that really work, cell phones that don't go dead, space satellites that do more and cost less, even better flashlights. It might even improve your laptop. But I could be wrong. It could just be a publicity stunt. Does anybody have any information?
Howard
