I be the only (literally) male stage manager at this school, though I'm not SMing this production - I'm running the followspot. I'm stage managing a show in two weeks though - my director, unfortunately, is not being as productive as she might, and I'm beginning to worry about getting ready on time. She finally told me what she wanted in terms of props - the day before props requests were due. Grrr...

The first night went pretty well, except for Act II. The SM and the Master Electrician redid the light cues (since there were several we ended up not using), but deleted the wrong ones, so we were missing necessary cues and we had cues we didn't need. Ugh. Outside of that, though, it's going well. I need to be there in twenty-seven minutes. Oops - twenty-six.

Being the small one (5'5", 130 lbs.) I'm the one who gets to run around in the grid and gets raised up to the celing to do all manner of stuff up there. I enjoy that part of the job - it's much easier than positioning the Genie lift so someone else can go up! :-} Interesting, though, that with a crew of six females and one male, I (the lone male) end up being the smallest. I think so, anyway.
