I'm stage managing a show in two weeks though - my director, unfortunately, is not being as productive as she might, and I'm beginning to worry about getting ready on time. She finally told me what she wanted in terms of props - the day before props requests were due. Grrr...

I know what that's like, but from a different angle... I was in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" once, playing Lysander. We never did end up getting around to practicing Act 5, and just ended up improvising the whole thing. The lines were similar, but were out of order, cues got mixed up (but somehow the end result managed to make sense to the audience anyway... but I'm afraid to think of what they walked away with); but because it was all done so spontaneously, it might have ended up keeping the spirit of that scene more than anything else. (Act V involves a poorly done play-inside-the-play).
