flavour

cheque (unless it's on a tablecloth, in which case 'check' - and we use 'bank' instead of the original 'banque' for the place you cash your cheque ;)

It's called English...
Scooters (usually without the 'motor', though a scooter is also used for the childrens' 'skateboard with handlebars') assuming you mean a step-through with small wheels, faring, covered engine at the back and the simplified controls (and space under the seat to store your lid: cf Vespas). A step-through with large wheels and a small (uncovered) engine is a moped (cf Honda C90). Where they merge is open to interpretation.

Oh, and centre, theatre, programme (except for computers?) et cetera.

But when in Rome...

en"I write potato, you please yourself"ile

...and we swop most of those 'z's ("zeds") for s's.
