I did miss a room the first time I searched the mansion. I'd lost the jewel before I found the broom. There is nothing I can do now in the mansion - I've tried every option many, many times.

The fact that eveanyn is having the same problem (I hadn't seen that post when I sent mine, and I'm amazed by the coincidence that we posted four minutes apart from each other) makes me suspect
that there's a bug, so I think I'll leave it for now and hope that Sam will read these posts and clarify things.
