Ma and Pa Kettle At Home (1954)

This is one of the best in the Ma and Pa Kettle series and certainly the warmest. Too warm for some, possibly, but cynical viewers won't have made it this far in the series anyway. The plot concerns a pair of scholarship judges who come in from the city to stay with the Kettles. Impressed by one of the Kettle children's essay about the slick workings of their farm, the judges want to see it for themselves. That sets the Kettles scrambling to fix the place up and make it look like the model of efficiency it was said to be. The comic potential is exploited well, and the climactic chase sequence is hilarious.
