Science fiction lies to me!

In 1984, Britain didn't get taken over by a totalitarian goverment who re-wrote English as a method of thought control.

In 1992, genetically engineered supermen didn't come close to taking over the world, only to be exiled in cryogenic suspension.

in 1999, a nuclear explosion didn't send the Moon (and the people at Moon Base Alpha) carooming across the galaxy at break-neck speed.

If we don't discover some obelisks orbiting Jupiter in the next few days, I'm going to be seriously dissapointed.
