So far, this new century has been one big fat disapointment. I expected:
1. That I would have toured Europe by now.
2. That people would be walking around on the Martian ice caps.
3. That passenger rail service would serve much of the country.
4. That trailer trucks would be traveling on their own roads leaving the interstate to four-wheelers.
5. That science would have found a way to limit snowfall in Buffalo to about one meter a year.
6. That volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornados would be predicted weeks in advance.
7. That ground effect machines would be operating as ferries over most major bodies of water, carrying people, cars and cargo.
8. That people would have discovered the built-in
hazards of tall buildings.
9. That Iraq would be a democracy.
10. That people would learn not to expect big changes just because the number of the century has changed.
