Hello All! Last week I went on my yearly trip to Glorieta NM. for a weeks vacation and a time of rest, rejuvination, and spiritual growth. This will be split up in three different stories, this being the first one, the drive up.

I was told that maybe I would have to drive on of our big 15 passenger vans, being one of the oldest campers. I was not pleased, since this was a 11 hour drive, and I really really wanted to sleep. We were supposed to leave at 12:03 a.m. We left at 1:30. Such things happen. We mdrove from Vegas to about Holbrook Arizona in about 5 1/2 hours...which is horrible time. We had a light breakfast. Got everyone piled back in. Melissa and I started feeling a little sick. So we tried to sleep, but the ither people in the van wouldn't shut up. Such things happen.
About an hour before Flagstaff, the lead van blew a wheel. This was not good. We pulled over and attempted to put the new tire on. But there was a problem; a piece of the old tire got stuck in the axle. We tried many different ways to get it out of there. None of them worked. Two hours later, we decided to sot it, and just drive. There were no problems, just that you could plainly see part of a tire hanging below. Then we lost part of our group who were driving in their own car. An hour later we were on the road again. Everyone but the drivers went to sleep. This was good, since I had now been up for roughly 20 hours. After 15 minutes though, I was up, never to go back to sleep again.
Give or take 8 hours, we finally made it in to camp. Our group was the very last to arrive.

Thus ends part I.
