Dr Pepper commercials hit a new low...

I don't know how well Dr Pepper sells in America, or how it's advertised over there, but in Britain its market share is summed up very well by their old advertising tagline: "Try it. You just might like it".

That always stuck me as being the last resort of an advertiser tring to find some way of winning over people who, for whatever reason, would never consider buying Dr Pepper.

This isn't to say that the drink is bad: I, along with maybe 99% of the British population have absolutly no idea what Dr Pepper tastes like so I can't really comment on that.

Their new adverts not only don't make me want to try the product, they actively put me off. The tagline is now "Dr Pepper: What's the worst that could happen?".

The worst that could happen is really rather bad, and everyone I know who has seen these adverts has had the same response to these adverts as me. Do you think this is what they wanted?
