Dr Pepper commercials hit a new low... posted by wintermute on Monday, May 14, 2001, at 07:32:01:

I think it shows an inspiring sense of realism in advertising. Dr Pepper is hard to find in New Zealand, but I found some last year and tried it, after a minor forum war had raged about whether it was God's gift to humanity or some kind of sick joke which some people still haven't got.
I not only couldn't drink more than one sip of the hideous stuff, but I had to run to the bathroom and hold my tongue under the cold tap to get rid of the taste. So, I'm thinking, the WORST that could happen would be that enough people buy it that it becomes the best selling drink on Earth, and every other drink company collapses, and we are left with nothing but Dr Pepper. Hopefully the universe will then spontaneously end, out of sheer decency.
