Erm. Well, not really. From all I've heard about Carl's Jr., I wish we had them here, but I not only live in New England but have travelled all up and down the East Coast and have never seen one.

Hardee's we do have, but they leave a little to be desired. Much better is Roy Rogers, or at least it was once upon a time. I think there is one or two in all of New England. Whether or not it's still like that now, the Roy Rogers I used to go to in Virginia in the late 80s was better than any other fast food burger joint could ever hope to be. Not sure if it's the whole chain that's declined over time or just the ones up here.

What's Ponderosa?

Also, the only good thing about Wendy's is Dave Thomas.

New England's contribution to cuisine is in its non-chain seafood places. I don't even know why we HAVE places like The Red Lobster here. Surely they don't ever get any customers. The food tastes about like it does everywhere else, but local seafood places have the best seafood in the universe. New England's lobster, clams, and various fish/clam/seafood chowders are unmatched. Then there's Boston, which is famous for, among other things, baked beans. The pride of New England as far as crops are concerned are, among other things, potatoes, Macintosh apples, and blueberries. Basically, fast food isn't particularly New England's forte, which is not a bad thing.
