I don't see the rope or crate on your list. I assume the rope is dangeling down the castle wall.

First you need to think over many times what the barkeep said until it starts repeating. Then talk to the blacksmith.

Now go mess up the pots and pans and hide then go out window and returning to dinning room and switch pictures.

But do get your rope and crate back. You are going o use them many times.
