> Ah, it's good to see that some of England rubbed off on you Canadians. We use the same process, and, unlike the USA, it takes less than 12 hours to work out who our prime minister is. This is especially good, seeing as we can count roughly 30,000,000 votes in 12 hours, while Florida takes nearly four weeks to do 6,000,000.

Har har. Ignore the past 200 years of elections in which Florida finished counting that night, save for absentee ballots. On the other hand, let's see how things go if England has an election that's only a few hundred votes apart. It won't be any different. Even if there are no legal challenges (ha!) you'll still have to recount and wait for absentee ballots, and the smallest of voting irregularities will become front page news and meet with all kinds of heated protest.

What is up with you? Every post you've made, including this one and the one I just deleted, in the past month or so has been this snide, very thinly veiled anti-American prejudice. You're even patronizing Canada now. My patience with it is wearing thin. Even as you readily and hastily apologize for slighting "American English," you're quick to make it clear your prejudices haven't changed. Wake up to the fact that there are people in the world besides those that live on your island that matter.
