I remember the first time I ever heard of Al Gore. It was on the Rush Limbaugh show, back in '92 before the election. Come to think of it, that was the first time I ever heard the Rush Limbaugh show as well.

It was a Limbaugh-mercial lampooning "the evil Bill Clinton and his twisted servant, Al Gore." The narrator was doing a Peter Lorre (sp?) impersonation, and read "Al Gore" as one word, making it sound a lot like "Igor," which is what was intended. Heh. Heh heh. As a result, my imagination frequently conjures up Algore, a stooped, hunchbacked little gnome carrying a brain in a jar.

I wish I had been old enough to vote in that election. I missed it by just over a month! Not that my vote would have counted (or recounted!) for much; Ohio was stupid that year.
