Can I give a progress report too?

The awkwardness of characters plunking down in one spot for an entire game is forgivable, I think, in adventure games, but I think I'm going to try to improve the realism of Game of the Ages by not doing that quite so much. GotA will feature characters that move around from place to place, appearing and disappearing as necessary for the story.

Of characters that sit around all day in Fantasy Quest, I like the Indian the most. Well or in mortal pain, he was pretty reliable about sitting right there in the middle of the field where he could be found. Dave had a theory about the Indian.

[Fantasy Quest SPOILERS follow!]

In Fantasy Quest, you never do find out just who owns the various buildings, like the castle and the fortress. Who lives in that fortress? It's abandoned. Dave's theory was that the Indian owned it -- that he was the antagonist to the story, kidnapped those people in the dungeons, and so forth. Then one day he was out wandering, received the injuries that you heal in the game, and lost all memory of who he was except for the password to his home. That's why he's sitting out there -- he doesn't know where to go -- and that's why he doesn't have any qualms about telling you the password -- because he doesn't remember that he lived there, and he caught all those people. That's Dave's theory. I think it's pretty sound. I like it.
