I don't like Clinton. I didn't vote for him. But let's face it, Iraq has had this coming for a long time. I think the impeachment hearings may have influenced *when* this move would be made, but not if. Coming down hard on Iraq is the right thing to do.

The other thing is, I don't understand why anybody would have thought the Dog needed to be Wagged anyway. Clinton's not going to be impeached. Clinton lied, sure, but he never committed an impeachable offense. The Senate needs to vote 2/3rds in favor for the impeachment to happen. Frankly I've never been more embarrassed to be a member of the Republican party. If Clinton *were* to be impeached, it'd be a horrendous precedent to set. It'd give a tremendous power to a select few to oust Presidents whenever they wished. But he's *not* going to be impeached, and that, in spite of the fact that I don't like him, is a fortunate thing.

So diversionary tactics are unnecessary, and Iraq needs some serious pummeling. That's my take.
