Yeah, it's ideal. Short, easy to read, an accepted classic of modern comic fiction, very amusing, but with enough stuff in it that you can probably make up a lot of crap about to critique. Unless you have one of those English teachers who feel that anything available as a cheap paperback and enjoyable to read isn't a valid subject. Maybe that's reading too much into it, I wouldn't know. All I know is, I saw it on the reading list for a postgraduate level Popular Fiction course at university, so go for it.
