Way back in my first year at university, we studied an old play in which a very minor character, in a very minor plot point, committed suicide by hanging herself. I kid you not, we spent about six months being forced to listen to our teacher's views on how this was actually a devastating subtle comment on patriarchal oppression, which as far as I know was not even a known concept at the time the play was written.

Elmira is cool, we have a third term that is 6 weeks long when the professors can teach weird subjects. I took a class called Science Through Science Fiction Liturature and Cinema. It was great fun. We spent a full class talking about what the T-2000 must have been made out of to beable to do all the stuff it did in the movie. I belive we setteld on nanites but we still had some people who said it would never work. Imagine spending a whole class heatedly arguing how a liquide mettel robot could work.

And then there was the class on inter-species dateing (why would a giant slug want to keep a human woman in a gold bikini?)
