I don't dispute your last points. But daniel's post specifically claimed that scientists are not "nearly as open-minded as they should be" which to me is a far cry from "they're subject to some biases."
I would suggest that scientists are probably among the most open-minded of many professions, because their training and work absolutely hinges on their being so.
