Go to Samoa in August. I never knew anything like it. It's like being in a sauna with the fire sprinklers on. I climbed the mountain to visit Robert Louis Stevenson's grave, and the sky just opened. By the time I got there, I was covered in orange mud from head to toe, I had lost a shoe, and I couldn't have been wetter if I'd jumped in a swimming pool. But it was WARM rain, warm air, and just surreal. And when I reached the top, it switched off instantly, the sun came out, and you could see to the edge of the world.
I visited the grave, took some photos, re-wrapped my camera in ten plastic bags and stuffed it back down my shirt, turned to leave, and the downpour switched on again like magic. Ol' Robbie knows I love him.
