Well Captain America is seen a sci-fi hero just bacause he was injected with super-soilde serurm. And I'm preaty sure that Spiff, Flash Gordon, and Buck Rogers all had access to strange alien technology. And Spiff is also Calvin which is sorta like a secret identity, which isn't a prerequisit for being a superhero, but not many other heroe types have them.
