I've been to three countries (US, Canada, Bahamas); eight states (Oregon, Washington, Hawai'i, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Georgia, Florida), and one Canadian province (British Columbia). However, Indiana and Georgia were pretty much "just passing through" (I never left the airport in Georgia, and I spent a total of two hours off the freeway in Indiana, and those two hours were at fast-food restaurants).

After we filled up the tank in SC, the car wouldn't start, and it turned out there was water in the gas. We had to find some kind of car mechanic guy to diagnose the problem and siphon the water out of the tank before we could continue on our way.

> I'll always remember the date when that happened, because it was Friday, July 1st. Based on that, and the fact that we were in a van, probably my dad's 1986 Astro, it had to have been 1988. We had a hard time finding someone to fix the car, and we knew that if we didn't get it fixed that afternoon, we'd have to spend the next three days (Saturday, Sunday, and the Fourth of July) in SC instead of FL with no car. Luckily, we got on our way again late that Friday afternoon, and just arrived at our destination a few hours later than originally planned.

Longest travel delay I ever had was when we were flying from PDX (Portland) to Atlanta (to catch a connecting flight to Orlando for our vacation), and this was in winter, and we ended up having a lot of snow causing the airplane to take off hours later than planned.

Lucky "Not only did we miss our connecting flight and have to find a later one, but we also missed a few relatives who live in Georgia and who had been planning on coming to the airport to meet us" Wizard
