Thank you for posting your remembered song. It's so nice to know someone has a life that's even more pointless and weird than mine. In fact, I'm going to make up a tune for that song so I can sing it just in case I ever find a great big box a-floating in the bay. I do like knowing the appropriate response to a situation; it removes a little of the uncertainty from life.

Some things I have found a-floating in the bay:
Seaweed
Sticks
A pod of orca
Litter
One shoe (I think this is what happens to the partner of the one shoe that you always see dropped in the middle of the road)
A hat
Penguins
A great big box (but at that time, I didn't know the right song to sing)
People, and parts thereof
Boats likewise
A green balloon
More penguins. I like penguins
Water (the top layer floats on the lower layers)
Dump de dumps
Things I don't want to talk about
Tangled up fishing line
Logs
Apples
