But when I saw this post I clicked on it and skimmed all those monthly updates (with the number of locations so far and stuff-thats what I mean by the coding). I didn't read all the responses to those updates tho. When I got all the way back to the beginning, I realized that it's going to have a secret area like GOA (which I found when I played it for the second time) and its going to be larger than POA. > > > > What I originally thought was going to be a secret area is now somewhere you have to go in the game, so I actually made somewhere else the secret area (but I haven't written it yet). > > > Larger than POA, yes. About 20 times larger. That's why it's taking so long. > > > Is there going to be a map in this game? You (someone playing the game) probably shouldn't get the map right away though (in the game).
There will be maps/diagrams of certain areas, but yes, you usually won't be able to get them right away, because that takes away a lot of the exploration stage. I don't think things will be as hard to visualize as in POA. What would be nice is to have the game actually do auto-mapping of areas you've been to, like some RPGs have. I think at least one text adventure system does this, too. It would probably be too much trouble in AGL, though.
