As my "changes from tournament #1" document indicates, I am trying to refine the game to make the gameplay more balanced and fair, and if (as it seems) tournament #2 could use some further refining, I'll do it.

But come on. "People like these" are playing the game by the rules, and they're playing the best game possible, which is, after all, the point. If it's upsetting to lose to someone who outplayed you, there's an easy answer: Don't play.
