poa - the sandstone caverns HELP!!

i know im sposed to get to the sandstone caverns somehow and get verna's passcard. the thing is i can't find them anywhere from the cavern. Iv made a map and i just keep ending up in the same place as before. I keep tryin to crawl up the north eastern tunnel, but theres no light. I have a feeling i need to go there to get t the sandstone caverns. this is driving me crazy helpp!! inventory:
