Why should I be forced to do this? The game company could have just as easily included a "go have a quick race with any one of the 200+ cars on any of the dozen tracks" mode along with their default "go through a series of races earning money to unlock new car choices and tracks" mode.

If there are cheat codes that will allow one to unlock various cars and tracks, why not just have them all available to begin with? It certainly would be easier than using the game manual's "Notes" page to write down two dozen complex cheat codes like "L1+L3+R1+R3, X, X+O, square, square+X, triangle, square+triangle, square+O, L1, L1, L2, R2, X+O+square+triangle+select".

The whole fun of the game is actually being able to play the game with what the game advertises. When the game box says I can play with over 200 different cars, I want to be able to play with them right now, not after spending a week trying to beat every race at every difficulty level. I've already spent my $50. I want my money's worth.

It's lazy programming.
