You're right. That whole "features" thing wasn't sitting well with me either. Let's go back to the instant replay.

[Stephen] This is so pedantic. So if Half-Life says, "Play through a storyline with 20 levels," that's okay, but if it says it "Features 20 levels" then that's not?

{FP] Yes. That's why most all copy released to the public by large companies usually goes through a legal department to see if the language used accurately reflects what should be said. "Play through a storyline with 20 levels" indicates that each level is played sequentially. "Features 20 levels" does not. Words have definitions.

Somehow we kept using the word "features". In a sense, this was what I was trying to get across with my "Words have definitions." comment. Stephen initially brought up the "Features 20 levels" as an alternative to "Play through 20 levels". However, a rewording of "Play through 20 levels" that would indicate a player can go through any level at their leisure would be "Play any of 20 levels".

Therefore, "through" indicates a progression and "any of" indicates one can access every level. "Features" without any context does not indicate when or how these are accessed.

The initial comment that started this whole mess read, in part, "If a racing game advertises over 250 cars and two dozen different racetracks..." No actual advertising dialogue was mentioned. It all seemed to come in as we snowballed through the Recent Messages page.

7. Clumsy Batman.

I'm playing Batman. Batman doesn't walk off a skyscraper to his death. He'd whip around and batarang back to the rooftop again. And who decided to make the ground the exact same color as the nothingness just off the building ledge? "Well, I'll just walk across to that box. AAAAaaaaa aaa aa a a."
