the rumour mill says that they did and they will, they just had to cut them due to t ime constraints, and refilm an "Aragorn" scene. apparently PJ Loves Tom Bombadil, but could see reason. Afterall, he's confusing to almost anyone who hasn't read (or had repeated to them ;)) half the Silmarillion, and other Middle Earth Lore.
