I doubt it. It seems to me like it would be pretty
bad form to hire an actor to play the part and
then tell him "oh, by the way, we're not going to
use any of your scenes in the movie, but we'll
slap them onto the DVD when the time
comes."

Although I suppose most rabid Tolkien fans
would jump at the chance...
