At the city end of the ferry route, pigeons fly in through the big sliding doors on one deck, and go around the boat looking for crumbs in between trips. Then, because they have the brains of a pigeon, they invariably make their way to other decks and can't find the door again. I spent a stupid amount of time on pigeon removal, chasing these cretinous panicking flying rats around the boat's interior and trying to direct them back out through the doors.
We have a lot of birds around here because much of the area is wooded. The little house wrens tend to hang around the house, which is probably why they are called that. When I open the garage door, especially this time of year, a pair of wrens will fly in there and start looking for a place to build a nest. Then I have to chase the bird-brained critters out before I close the door. They seem to enjoy beating their heads against the glass of a window in the back of the garage. At least that's what they do when I shoo. I've had a few who got trapped in there over night and a few who died while we were out of town. Twice, when I left the door open all day, they built nests in there. Maybe I need another cat. Howard
