The British Government seems to have spent the last few years doing something unique. That is, giving away as much terretory as possible. Wales and Scotland have been given their own Parliamentary Assemblies which makes it even harder for laws to apply across the country, and for public spending to be coordinated.But that's fair enough. Democratic process and what-not.

Then, the Good Friday Agreement (peace talks with the IRA) suddenly come damn close to giving Northern Ireland completely to the IRA. There are sections of Belfast that the police aren't allowed to enter, now. Anmesty is being announced on the few terrorists who haven't already been let out of prison, so long as the promise not to blow up anyone else. Now, not only is this obviously doomed to failure, but 90% of Northern Irish people want to remain within the UK. And the government is riding roughshod over their right to decide who runs their country.

And we've now entered into talks to give Gibralta "back" to Spain. British policiy on Gibralta has always previously been that it'll be British as long as it's citizens want it to be. Now they're being told that they're going to be given to Spain, and they'd better grow to like the idea. European and International laws are being broken all over the place (funding is being illegally withheld until they agree to be Spanish, for example).

Now, everyone in Gibralta wants to remain British, and they've been arranging huge demonstrations to try and prove this. But it seems that our current covernment isn't interesting in anywhere more than 30 miles from London.
