My question concerns the soup that is *on* the spoon. That is, it's the drop that hangs on the bottom and falls in your lap. I tried raking it off on the rim of the bowl, but that just means a slightly smaller drip will fall in your lap. The rest winds up on the tablecloth. No, I don't put a plate under the bowl, because it's just one more dish to wash. I suppose I could wipe the bottom of the spoon across a cracker. Any other suggestions?
