GOA - stumped by a number of things

This is what I'm carrying:

20 Bronze Coins
Guard's Sword
Tinderbox
Piece of Trash
Map

7 Red Gemstones
Stone of Strengthening
Torch
Crate

3 Black Gemstones
Food Rations
Portrait
Hammer

6 Apples
Rope
Clear Focus Stone
Blanket

I just don't know what else to do. Tried going back to my town and getting into the shack now that I have the hammer..but no luck. I know the coins should buy me something but don't know where or what. I did get into the kitchen and waited for the servant girls to be busy in there but when I go back to the banquet hall theyy come back before I can do anything.

Point me in the direction I need to go. It would be greatly appreciated.
