My uncle is single (dating, but still single,) and not very far past 40 years old. He has been searching for a job since April. He's made himself sick worrying about it. He gave himself an ulcer. He almost didn't come with me and my dad to go on our big fishing trip to Canada this past July that had been in the works for months. He's done the type-up-and-e-mail-the-resume bit, despite having never ever touched a computer before. He's gone to the unemployment office numerous times.

It's always easier to get a job if you already have one. Strange, but true.
It's best to take anything you can get and then move up. Worrying yourself into an ulcer because of unemployment, isn't so bad. I've known people who have tried to solve their problems by drinking. That surely doesn't work.
Tell your uncle that I wish him luck.
