A Lesson

My uncle lost his job in April. Since then, he's been living off unemployment and his (not particularly large) savings. My uncle is single (dating, but still single,) and not very far past 40 years old. He has been searching for a job since April. He's made himself sick worrying about it. He gave himself an ulcer. He almost didn't come with me and my dad to go on our big fishing trip to Canada this past July that had been in the works for months. He's done the type-up-and-e-mail-the-resume bit, despite having never ever touched a computer before. He's gone to the unemployment office numerous times.

However, my uncle HAS been offered jobs, but there was always something about one that he didn't particularly like. It's almost as if he's searching for the "perfect" job.

His money runs out this week.

Lesson: Opportunity will only knock so many times. Take what you can get now, and hope for better later.
