Heh. True enough. I guess I should make it clear that I don't think the US had absolutely *no* warning about the attack on Pearl Harbor before it happened. I think it's been proved that we at least knew the Japanese were up to *something* big. I think the result was more typical American complacency--we didn't *really* think they'd dare attack us, so we didn't do a whole lot with the warning signs we got. It's an unfortunate affect of being the strongest nation on the planet and having two large oceans as a buffer between us and anyone who would normally want to harm us. We honestly think nobody would *dare* attack us, and even if we did believe they would attack us, we don't think they can do it effectively because we're so far away from them.

We got proven wrong on December 7th 1941 and again on September 11th 2001.
