"We almost didn't get to go, because we forgot Jonathan's birth certificate."

Couldn't you just hold him up in front of the official and go "look! proof that he's been born!"?

Which reminds me of when I went climbing in France last year - My chalk bag got badly scratched up while downclimbing some rocks, and I had to store my spare chalk in a plastic bag. So when they opened my bag at English customs on the return journey, the guy at the desk was presented with a rather obvious bag full of white powder.

"Can you tell me what that is, Sir?"

"That?" *starts laughing because I've just realised what it looks like* "Thats Magnesium Carbonate powder."

"Why do you have a bag of it in your belongings?"

"Well, I've just been on a climbing holiday. Climbers use gymnasts chalk to soak up sweat on the hands."

"Ummm-hmmmm. Step this way please sir."

"Sarcasm gets you everywhere, especially if you want o go and sit in a windowless room in customs for the next five hours"
