Well well, it's another German! I would just like to mention that most people I know here (which is in fact a part of Germany) do NOT like sauerkraut at all, including myself.

In Germany it's definitely an "alien" ingredient. I cant comment on other countries, though. Up to now I thought that England was the primary mint nation of this here planet :-)

You know, at first I thought that the part about there being no German dish with mint was a bit exaggerated, but now I can't think of any. Peppermint tea (or rather, hot water with peppermint in it) is pretty common here, though.
