It's the wrong type of mint for meat. Although there are some curry dishes that are flavoured with peppermint, they aren't English, and are far more strongly flavoured overall. Applemint wouldn't be able to cut through all the spices.

That said, there are some English recipies with quite a lot of peppermint in them - Kendal Mint Cake (which isn't a cake, it's more a sort of energy bar eaten by mountain climbers), for example. Perhaps a bad example, but the first one that comes to mind.
