Admittendly, there have been book and movie versions of other games, but no RPGs, and they've often been with same characters but diffent plots, plus they've been of games that don't have great plots.

What he meant was video game RPGs. When I first read the post, I thought, "Huh? Haven't you ever heard of Dragonlance?" Then I realized he didn't mean pencil and paper RPGs.

The main problem I see with the proposal is attempting to squash all those hours of gameplay down into one book or movie, as someone else said. One game could be a series of books, I suppose. But really, what's the point of rehashing it all? The only people interested in seeing a movie or reading a book made from a video game RPG are those that have played it, I think. And they know what's going to happen already. It might be somewhat interesting to see how well it translates to film/writing, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort.
