My brother and I have this fort-type thing we built a few years ago that is inexplicably named Old Tucson (we live in California, not Arizona). It's about a minute's walk from the house in a little forest.

A few days after we finished building it, we went there and found...a whole FAMILY of RATS! And rat turds everywhere! And nests! Dad took a hose and removed the all traces of them. So the next day...

I decided to take a look and see if they were really gone. As I opened the door, I saw one lone rat inside. I chased him out with a branch. The next day, he was back. I kept checking every day and finally he was gone.

However...

A few months later we decided it would be fun to spend the night in Old Tucson, so we went to scope it out. Well, the rats (and nests and turds) were back in full force. We cleaned them out AGAIN. A couple months ago, I went over there. No rats but...yes, you guessed it...nests and poop.

Needless to say, we haven't slept there yet.
