OK peoples, this is a bit of an angry political post. If you prefer happy butterfly flower sunshine posts, look away now.

Anyway. I have a friend who lived for some time in America, and his rather aggressive nationalism can sometimes scare me. For example, he thinks America should invade Third World countries to get the money owed by them (in a 1923 French into German Ruhr-stylee). He also believes that Britain will eventually be absorbed into America. Now, he might have said this just to really annoy me, but you never know. Anyhow, if anyone has any thoughts on this, please tell me (don't be angry at this guy, he's all right really).
