There seems to be some form of "kettle" chips in most countries. England has a variety called Kettle chips, Australia you know about from the other posting New Zealand also has the same thing.

Beware, the fat content of a kettle chip is normally higher. The chips are "batch" cooked, spending longer in the vat, hence picking up more fat.

The UK has sea salt flavoured as well.
