I always enjoy sharing my poetry, so here is a brand-spankin'-new poem I wrote a few days ago. Please feel free to give your opinions about it. It has an awesome (and I mean "awe-inspiring" here, not "cool") story behind it, too, but I will let you all read it first.
"The World Is Dark, the Soul Is Not" Written 3-28-01; 8:02 pm
With the beauty of the day slipping into the night We find ourselves stranded in a land of misery Solitude abounds for these people far away Their own desires plague their chances of survival We gaze upon them with sorrowful hearts Daring to approach what seems to be lost Do they realize the stars still shine in the dark Or that the sun/Son is there, yet just not seen How long will it take for these souls to wake up To see that darkness is not truly impenetrable A radiance from within can lead them home They need not be alone in their solitary dusks So we must guide them to the lightswitch Showing them just how to connect to the sun/Son The silent pleadings and weary cries are not unheard They are listened to with concern and love In order to live, they first must be born For though they are breathing, they aren't alive Shining a ray of luminescent hope upon them We together can bring them to life The highest and strongest breathes into the souls Awakening and enlivening what had been dormant A tough feat it is not, for as one we will succeed Uniting as one body, we will guide them home Where the steadfast leader will open the door So you see, nothing is truly dark and lightless We just need to shine the inner light that comes with being born
