I'm going to go ahead and respond to this before reading the other replies, mainly because there are a lot of replies already, and if I read them all first, I'll forget what I'm thinking now.

In college, I did all my graphic design training on Macs. But since I've been in the workplace, I've worked almost exclusively on PCs. I've found that I'm equally comfortable working on either platform, and the software is the same. I do have a preference, and that preference is for the PC. For some reason, I just feel that I have more control and more freedom working on a PC.

It used to be very difficult to design on a PC, because PC files and Mac files were incompatible. That has changed, but I have still run into a frequent barrier, simply because I work on a PC and not a Mac. Many printers still insist that they can only accept Macintosh files, despite how easy it is now to transfer working files across platforms. I wonder if this is due to one or more of the three reasons you mentioned above.

Another thing I have run into is a sort of mild attitude of superiority among Mac designers. Almost all my classmates that I went to school with are now using Macs in the field, and whenever they discover that I am using, and even prefer to use, a PC, I get the faint impression that PC designing is somehow disgusting or anathema to them. I just don't get that.
